Nissan Launches New Magnite KURO Special Edition in India: Bold All-Black SUV Starts at ₹8.30 Lakh

In a bold move that redefines styling in the compact SUV segment, Nissan Motor India Private Limited (NMIPL) has launched the New Nissan Magnite KURO Special Edition. Starting at ₹8.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the KURO Special Edition brings a premium, all-black aesthetic, combining Japanese design precision with elevated features and enhanced road presence.

The name “KURO” comes from the Japanese word for ‘Black’, and the model embodies what Nissan calls the “Boldest Black” philosophy — a theme that is carried throughout the vehicle’s exterior and interior. This special edition is available with both naturally aspirated and turbo-petrol engines, giving buyers flexibility without compromising on performance or design.

Bookings for the Magnite KURO Special Edition are now open at an attractive price of ₹11,000. Customers can reserve their vehicle through Nissan’s nationwide network of dealerships or online via the official website, www.nissan.in. The company has also integrated a photorealistic 3D configurator on its website, offering a fully interactive experience to visualize the KURO variant before booking.

On the outside, the Magnite KURO Special Edition features several distinct design elements, including a Piano Black Front Grille, Resin Black Skid Plates (front and rear), Gloss Black Roof Rails, Black Door Handles, and Bold R16 Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels. The all-black treatment extends to the Signature Black LED Headlamps with Lightsaber Turn Indicators, offering a commanding look and improved visibility.

The all-black theme continues inside the cabin with a Midnight Themed Dashboard, Piano Black Gear Shift Garnish, Steering Insert, Black Sun Visors, and Door Trims, all designed to evoke a premium and immersive ambiance. Feature enhancements include a Sable Black Wireless Charger as standard and a Stealth Dash Cam available as an accessory — a nod to the rising demand for tech-forward driving conveniences.

Speaking on the launch, Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said, “The New Nissan Magnite KURO Special Edition embodies bold design and refined craftsmanship, thoughtfully created in response to strong customer demand for a distinctive, premium, and feature-packed offering. The previous KURO edition received an overwhelming response, and we’re excited to elevate that legacy.”

He further highlighted that the KURO Special Edition aligns with Nissan’s broader vision of delivering exceptional value, innovation, and safety. “With our recent 5-star rating from Global NCAP, this vehicle not only stands out in design but also in safety. It’s a reflection of our ‘One Car, One World’ strategy to deliver world-class products from India,” he added.

The launch of the KURO Special Edition comes shortly after the New Nissan Magnite received a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP — a significant achievement that positions the compact SUV among the safest vehicles in its segment in both India and South Africa. Built on the advanced CMF-A+ platform, the Magnite now boasts over 40 standard safety features, including:

  • 6 airbags
  • 67% high tensile strength steel (>440 MPa)
  • ABS with EBD
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • Traction Control System (TCS)
  • Hill Start Assist (HSA)
  • Brake Assist and TPMS

Adding to the Magnite’s appeal, Nissan has also introduced a new Metallic Grey colour across select variants including Tekna, Tekna+ and N Connecta. This move allows customers to choose from a broader palette, while keeping in step with evolving automotive style preferences.

Launched in October 2024, the Magnite has already made a mark in over 65 global markets, including both Right-Hand and Left-Hand Drive regions. With 20+ best-in-segment features and 55+ safety technologies, the compact SUV continues to strengthen Nissan’s global and domestic portfolio.

The KURO Special Edition not only celebrates a sophisticated, all-black design but also underscores the company’s commitment to innovation, safety, and personalization — making it a compelling option for style-conscious SUV buyers in India.
