Tata Motors Reports Sales of 69,131 Units in July 2025; Achieves Record EV Sales Milestone

Tata Motors has announced its sales performance for July 2025, registering a total of 69,131 units sold across domestic and international markets. While overall numbers reflect a modest year-on-year dip compared to July 2024’s 71,996 units, notable growth was recorded in several key areas, especially in electric vehicles (EVs) and commercial vehicle exports.

Strong Growth in Commercial Vehicle Segment

The commercial vehicle (CV) division continued its upward momentum with total CV sales reaching 28,956 units, marking a 7% year-on-year growth. This includes:

  • Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCVs): 6,735 units, up 4%
  • Intermediate, Light & Medium CVs (ILMCVs): 5,068 units, up 17%
  • Passenger Carriers: 4,749 units, up 7%
  • CV International Business: 2,524 units, up a notable 57%

Domestic sales of Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (MH&ICV), including both trucks and buses, stood at 12,387 units—an increase from 11,174 units in July 2024. Combined domestic and international MH&ICV sales reached 13,669 units, showcasing robust demand across segments.

Passenger Vehicle Sales Show Resilience Amid Challenges

In the Passenger Vehicle (PV) segment, Tata Motors reported total sales of 40,175 units, reflecting an 11% decline from the previous year. Domestic PV sales—including electric vehicles—stood at 39,521 units.

However, international PV sales surged, with PV International Business (PV IB) achieving 654 units, a remarkable 186% year-on-year growth.

Electric Vehicles Hit All-Time High

Tata Motors reached a significant milestone in its electrification journey, achieving its highest-ever monthly EV sales at 7,124 units (domestic + international), representing a 42% growth year-on-year. This achievement underlines the company’s strong commitment to sustainable mobility and its leadership in India’s rapidly growing EV market.

A Balanced Performance

While the overall sales witnessed a 6% year-on-year decline in the domestic market, Tata Motors’ continued strength in commercial vehicle exports and record-setting EV sales indicate a balanced and strategic performance as the company transitions toward a greener, more connected future.
