Toyota Kirloskar Motor Signs MoU for Development of ZP School in Maharashtra

Reinforcing its commitment to sustainable social impact and inclusive community development, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Zilla Parishad to upgrade infrastructure at Zilla Parishad Kendriya Prathamik School (ZPKPS) in Bidkin, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.

The MoU was officially exchanged at the Collector Office in the presence of dignitaries including Shri Deelip Swami, Collector & District Magistrate; Shri Ankit, Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad; and senior officials from the Education Department. Representing TKM were Mr. Sudeep Dalvi, Chief Communication Officer, Senior Vice President & Head State Affairs, and other senior company executives.

A Vision for Holistic Community Development

This strategic collaboration aligns with Toyota’s broader vision of holistic community development under its CSR philosophy, Samuday Vikas, and coincides with TKM’s recent announcement of a new greenfield manufacturing facility in Maharashtra. The initiative underscores Toyota’s integrated approach toward industrial development, employment generation, and grassroots education reform.

“We welcome this collaboration with Toyota Kirloskar Motor to upgrade ZPKPS Bidkin. With student numbers rising, this initiative is timely and vital for enhancing the quality of public education,” said Shri Deelip Swami, Collector & District Magistrate, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.

Education at the Core of Toyota’s CSR Strategy

Education remains a central pillar of TKM’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) framework, which is deeply aligned with national initiatives such as Skill India and the National Education Policy (NEP). Through this initiative, TKM aims to create a modern, inclusive, and future-ready educational environment, focusing on early childhood care, foundational literacy, and access to essential resources.

“We believe education is a powerful enabler of inclusive growth. By transforming ZPKPS Bidkin into a modern learning space, we are investing in the future of nearly 1,200 students,” said Mr. Sudeep Dalvi, Senior VP, Toyota Kirloskar Motor. “This MoU represents our long-term commitment to working with the government to strengthen the social fabric of India.”

ZPKPS Bidkin: A Legacy Institution Ready for Transformation

Established over a century ago, ZPKPS Bidkin currently serves more than 800 students from economically weaker and socially diverse backgrounds. With enrolment projected to rise to approximately 1,200 students, the school is one of the region’s largest government institutions, yet it faces significant infrastructure limitations.

The initiative aims to upgrade the school’s facilities in a phased manner over three years (2025–2028), ensuring it meets the standards of a modern and inclusive educational institution. The project will include improvements to classrooms, sanitation, digital learning infrastructure, and resource accessibility—fostering a nurturing space that supports well-rounded learning outcomes.

A Step Toward Inclusive Development in Maharashtra

Toyota’s intervention at ZPKPS Bidkin is not only an education-centric CSR move but also complements its strategic entry into Maharashtra with a new production plant. The company’s growing regional presence signifies its commitment to local development, community upliftment, and responsible business practices.
