MRF 2W Rally of Coimbatore 2025 Concludes Successfully with Thrilling Action
The motorsport capital of South India roared back to life on Sunday as the MRF 2W Rally of Coimbatore 2025, the 4th round of the MRF MoGrip-FMSCI 2W Rally Championship, wrapped up in thrilling fashion. Organized by the Coimbatore Auto Sports Club (CASC), the rally showcased high-octane racing, new routes, and stellar performances from India’s top two-wheeler rally talent.
This year’s edition featured a total rally distance of 76.58 km, with 52.22 km of challenging Special Stages set in Vellalore and Chettipalayam, bringing the action closer to the city compared to the traditional Kethanur route. Two physical stages—11.75 km and 14.36 km—were each repeated twice, testing both man and machine in equal measure.
Out of 89 riders who started the rally, only 7 dropped out, with 82 competitors completing the gruelling event.
Abdul Wahid Wins Overall Title for TVS Racing
Leading the pack was Abdul Wahid of Team Petronas TVS Racing, who clinched the coveted Overall Winner titlewith a penalty time of 45 minutes and 15 seconds riding a TVS RTR 450cc motorcycle. His teammate Samuel Jacobfollowed closely as the Overall Runner-up with a time of 45 minutes and 24 seconds, making it a strong 1-2 finish for TVS Racing in Class 1.
“This year’s new stages truly pushed our limits with several technical sections. It’s one of the finest rallies I’ve participated in,” said Abdul Wahid.
In the Women’s Class (Class 7), Somyya Chaudhary of Hero Motorsports from Jaipur emerged victorious, calling the event “a very fast rally that ran like clockwork.”
A.Karthick Claims ‘Star of Tamil Nadu’ Title
In the special ‘Star of Tamil Nadu’ category, Coimbatore’s A.Karthick topped the podium, showcasing exceptional skill and home-ground advantage.
